APE’s barbecue tradition
September 7th, 2023Just like Chinese people love to eat hot pot in winter, we love to eat barbecue in summer. At APE, it is a tradition for us to have a classical German grill party every summer with colleagues.
How much do you know about a traditional German grill party?
Let me show you a few key points. 😉
· Our favorite BBQ dishes 🥩 🥦
Number one is Bratwurst (grilled sausage). This is also the impression most people have of Germany. “Delicious German food is equal to sausage.”. But we definitely don’t just put sausages on the grill, because there are also Schweinesteak (Pork steak). And the love for pork goes far beyond that, we enjoy the crispy and juicy Grillfackel (Seasoned pork belly) as well. In recent years, vegetarian and vegan grill dishes have also become increasingly popular.
· Any special sauce?
To make the meat even more delicious, we need the classic sauce – mustard.
· Side dishes? 🥖
One of the favorites is the grilled garlic butter baguette.
· Salad? 🥗
Of course. Our colleagues sometimes bring their home-made salad and share with everyone. The most classic ones include noodle salad (noodles, peas, pickled cucumber, ham and carrots with mayo or vinegar dressing) and potato salad (chopped onions, cooked potatoes and chives with mayo dressing).
· Who is the grill master at APE? 👨🍳
